Delivering Application Symbols to enable hybrid deployments

If you are like us at Axians Infoma and can’t make the transition of your on-premises solution from C/AL to AL with a single snap of your fingers, you may want to use hybrid deployments as a first step. This means shipping your standard C/AL solution and publishing dependent extensions on top of that to enable a step-by-step migration to AL.

Import Symbols in New or Upgrade Databases with Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2018

What does upgrading databases have in common with creating new databases in Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2018? They do not contain symbols. More precisely, when upgrading a database from an older version to Dynamics NAV 2018, or creating a new database for the same version, it does not have any symbols automatically created or imported.

Display Symbols and Different Fonts in Dynamics NAV 2013 R2

NAV 2013 | Keys in Symbol Menu

One of the things that I noticed while doing some development in NAV2013 is that keys are now part of the Symbol Menu (F5) in the C/AL editor! This allows you to select all active keys for example when using SETCURRENTKEY. Very handy, since most of the time you had to go to for example the design of the table to look for keys, copy and paste, and then implement the quotes. How cool is this! NAV2013 rocks!
