When we do Microsoft Dynamics Business Central or Dynamics NAV development, one of our goals is to minimize the work required during an upgrade. When it comes to report customizations, we can handle this by using a custom report layout instead of modifying an existing report. I’ll talk you through custom report layout limitations, how you can make a custom report layout, and why you would want one.
When you need to design a layout for a report, using VSCode, when creating an extension, as you might already know, you have the choice between using Report Builder and Visual Studio. And you can use both of them at the same time, which enables you to combine the advantages of both environments when designing RDLC report layouts.
Nice question in Microsoft Dynamics BC Community about report development in Visual Studio Code: “How to modify an existing report in Business Central?” .Is there any way to development tools will be used by partners to modify standard Reports and build/modify custom Reports in Rdlc or in Word Layout?
