I had a difficult time finding an example of this type of API filtering using the OData $filter query option, so I wanted to share an example that I needed for a project.
For context, this is a very simple example of a Business Central API “child array” that I wanted to filter. Technically, I think that OData calls this an “expanded navigation property”.

During the preparation of the web services examples, I stumbled upon some .Net interoperability issues in Dynamics NAV. One of these issues was about splitting a string into an array.
One of the hidden new feature of NAV 2016 and C/AL language is the possibility to loop on a .NET variable.

As many of you know, using temporary tables in Microsoft Dynamics NAV is a very powerfull feature. We can use it to buffer data, to simulate SELECT DISTINCT etc. And they are free.
