In a forum thread a user asked for a code coverage tool. Microsoft has developed the Nav 2013 Application Test Toolset, but did not deliver a version for Nav 2013 r2 or Nav 2015. It’s possible to import this Toolset in Nav 2013 r2, but … it does not work.

As you probably know, since NAV 2009, there is some kind of framework built in the C/SIDE environment that can deal with application testing. Usually referred to as “Testing Framework” or “Test codeunits” or “Test Toolset” or “probably-some-kind-of-other-description-I-don’t-think-of-at-this-moment-but-deals-with-testing-the-functionality-of-your-(customized)-NAV-solution”.

As announced at Directions US 2012, Microsoft recently released the Application Test Toolset for Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 at PartnerSource.
Application Test Toolset for Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 SP1/R2
This supplement includes a simple test framework, a set of (example) tests, and a tool to manage and execute tests build on top of the testability features released with Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 SP1. This toolset also works with Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 R2.
