Time Series is a topic on its own in machine learning, as it is one of the cleanest examples of predicting the future. All you need is a dataset that contains a date and a number. Time Series then uses this to predicting values for future periods.

Toggle Overlapping Time Periods using the Calendar Table
I had a great question pass my way last week while I was at the Microsoft Business Application Summit. The problem presented by Matt (a different Matt, not me) was that he had around 200 measures already written, but wanted to be able to toggle the report pages between YTD and Full Year data. For the sake of this article I will be using Year to Date (YTD) and Moving Annual Total (MAT) as the 2 toggle events.
Time Intelligence Using DAX
Last week I presented a webinar with Chuck Sterling (from Microsoft) on the topic of Time Intelligence. This was a YouTube broadcast event that anyone could join live, however it has also been recorded and can be watched at any time (see below).
How to restrict an action button based on time in Microsoft Dynamics NAV
The requirement was such that on click of the action button a payment transaction is done. The time at which transaction was done is stored in the database. A restriction shouldto be applied to disallow the customer to make payment for the same amount till a certain time
Ultimate Time Based Calculations Cheat Sheet for DAX / Power BI (including Week based calculations)
Power BI provides great time intelligence features to calculate Year-to-date (YTD), Month-to-date (MTD) and Quarter-to-date (QTD) totals. There is no such thing as Week-to-date (WTD) or Period-to-date (PTD) where period could be any arbitrary period definition (I used two-month periods in my example below). If you want those, you will have to create the calculations yourself.
Daylight Saving Time And Time Zones In M
Quite a few people (Ken Puls, Reza Rad and today Chris Koester) have blogged about how the M date/time zone functions work in Power Query/Power BI, and the related problem of turning a UTC time into the actual time in any given location taking Daylight Saving Time changes into account. I don’t have much to add to what they have written, but I did learn something new about this subject from a customer last week: it is possible to do the conversion in pure M if the time zone you’re converting to is your PC’s own local time zone.
Top Two Problems for Dynamics NAV Classic Client: Table Locks and Time
Two of the biggest complaints I hear from clients who are still on NAV versions prior to NAV 2013 are the headaches caused by table locks, and the time required to post sales orders. If you are one of those people suffering from either (or both) of these issues, keep reading, there is hope.
