The Information Management Function

The Information Management (IM) function is part of the demand-side user organization (as opposed to the supply-side IT organization) and is tasked with maintaining the functionality of the information systems and thereby ensuring that the business can depend on the information provisioning to help them survive and succeed. It acts as the portfolio holder for the business and represents business management as the customer for the IT provider and is therefore closely related to Application Management & IT Infrastructure Management.
